For the last eight months it has been my honor and privilege to crisscross our state meeting with, listening to, and learning from thousands of Connecticut residents while seeking our Party’s Gubernatorial nomination. Despite our unprecedented momentum over the closing weeks of the campaign, last night we fell just short of our goal in one of the closest Republican Primaries in our State’s history.
My congratulations goes to last night’s winners, who will take our Republican values into this critical general election. I look forward to working with them to bring the much needed change to Hartford and Washington, DC that will get our economy back on track, create jobs, and help our state and nation realize their limitless potential.
My family and I have been truly humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support we’ve received from ordinary citizens across this great state. I thank each and every one of you for your tireless effort, support and friendship over the course of this campaign. Together we raised questions, proposed solutions, and guided the political discourse to one which has recognized the need to bring meaningful structural reform to our state government.
I am grateful to my supporters, the people of this state, and my family for the encouragement and inspiration that have fueled this effort. I believe in the promise and the future of this state and it’s people that I love so much, and am confident that working together we will continue to move Connecticut forward.
The polls are open from 6AM to 8PM and we’re not taking a single vote for granted.
Because of your help, we are closing this primary campaign with tremendous momentum. But with this race so close we need to make sure all our supporters get out to the polls and cast their vote for Mike Fedele and Mark Boughton.
Will you volunteer on election day to help us get out the vote? Just call the campaign at (860) 337-1441 to get involved.
We are also hosting an Election Day Hotline at (860) 337-1441.
Please use the Election Hotline to let us know what you’re seeing at the polls – turnout, campaign activity, and any potential poling problems.
I’m writing to share with you some very exciting campaign news as we enter the final hours before election day. This week, our campaign commissioned a poll of 300 likely Republican Primary voters and I think you will find these results startling:
Mike Fedele – 28%
Tom Foley – 24%
Oz Griebel – 15%
Undecided – 33%
That’s right, heading into Tuesday’s election, Mike Fedele is now in the lead!
Republican pollster Neil Newhouse said of the poll’s findings:
“The combination of Foley’s arrest record, his efforts to prevent the Fedele campaign from receiving public financing and the exposure of his mismanagement of the Bibb Company have contributed to the erosion of his support and growing doubts about his candidacy.”
“Fedele clearly has the momentum in this race and is in position to pull off a historic comeback.”
It should come as no surprise that the Stamford Advocate and Tom Foley’s hometown newspaper The Greenwich Time both this week chose to endorse Mike Fedele for Governor. The Greenwich Time said this of Mike Fedele:
“On top of his government experience, there is Mr. Fedele’s life story. He’s a kid from the West Side of Stamford, an immigrant whose father was often without work. Mike Fedele has made himself wealthy, but he can relate to the lives of all Connecticut residents. That’s an intangible that cannot be overlooked.”
But this new poll also tells us that our job is not over – the race remains close, and many voters are still undecided. With your help tomorrow and on Tuesday, we can turn out our vote and share Mike’s message of conservative change with the remaining undecided voters.
Thank you for your continued hard work and support, we look forward to celebrating with you on Tuesday.
Thanks to your support the Fedele-Boughton team is heading into the August 10th Republican primary with tremendous momentum. Together we are poised to complete one of the fastest and most stunning surges to victory in the history of Connecticut politics. But it is in these last days before the primary that your support matters most. If you have the time to volunteer this weekend, or still need lawn signs or bumper stickers please let us know.
You can call our West Hartford and Danbury offices at (860) 206-9361, our Stamford office at (203) 316-8496, email the campaign, or simply click on the button below to get involved.
Fedele the choice among Republicans Connecticut Post Editorial
Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele has the combination of government and business experience that, given the chance to serve in the No. 1 seat, would be good for the state of Connecticut.
The Connecticut Post endorses his candidacy in the Aug. 10 Republican three-way primary.
The 55-yearold Fedele brings 10 years of legislative experience, serving in the state House of Representatives from 1992 to 2002, and three years in his current position.
But Fedele is also a self-made businessman and understands that job creation is the top challenge to the state.
Fedele understands in no uncertain terms that improving the atmosphere in Connecticut for small business is essential to turning around the state’s economy.
His stand against any new taxes speaks to his understanding of the situation.
Leave a comment to let us know what you think of our latest campaign ad “Plan”. You can also read more about Mike’s detailed plan to cut spending and reduce the size of government.
The August 10th Republican primary is now just two weeks away! Our campaign is in full swing, and voters across Connecticut are learning about Mike’s message of fiscal responsibility, government accountability, and his pledge to VETO the Democrats’ tax increases.
In a low turnout election like this, every vote counts. That’s why it’s essential that you, your friends and your family participate in the August 10th Primary. If you’re not able to vote at your polling place for any of the reasons listed below on August 10, you can still vote by absentee. Click here to download an absentee ballot application from the Secretary of State. You can also cast your absentee ballot in person at the Town Clerk’s office in your local community.
To be eligible to vote by absentee ballot, you must be unable to vote in person because of one of the following:
Your active service in the US armed forces
Your absence from town during all voting hours
Your illness
Your physical disability
Your religion forbids secular (non-religious) activity on that day
Your required performance of duties as a primary, referendum, or election official at a polling place other than your own during all voting hours on that day.
If you have any questions about voting absentee or the process for requesting a ballot please do not hesitate to call our campaign headquarters at (860) 206-9361
Thank you for your continued support, and please join our efforts to turn out the vote in the coming weeks.
